Theist and atheist intellectuals, what do you think of this argument for God?

I guess I'm still wondering why we've been one this world for so long, and the advancements we've made in just the last 100 years are mind blowing! Did people just decide we'll start to be lazy, and pulled out the blue prints on technology?
